The
Event - March 1, 2008
The Event was organized and presented to the Chewelah community
by PACA on March 1, 2008 at 7pm at the Civic Center to highlight our
local performing and fine-art artists. The purpose of The Event was
twofold: first, to introduce PACA to the community and explain what
PACA is all about, which included drawings and sketches of the proposed
Center; and second, to demonstrate the wealth of local talent that does
not have a suitable venue for both performance and display, thus emphasizing
the need for the Chewelah Performing and Cultural Arts Center.

While admission
was free, donations were suggested, which raised some initial seed money
to cover a few of the PACA startup expenses (see below for an accounting).
Given the overwhelming response to The Event - for many, it was standing
room only, with more than 300 in attendance - the community could see
for itself the need for the Center. All were invited to participate
at any level to support PACA.
The evening
ended with a Question/Answer period, hosted by local architect Thomas
W. Bristol, AIA, whose architectural firm,
Purple
Flat Top, created many of the conceptual drawing for the
Center. For more information, see the links for Facility
and Designs.
