Board Members Biographies Sharon
Ludwig Active in community service, Sharon has served the Chewelah Girl Scouts, Chewelah Community Celebrations, Chewelah City Council, Chewelah LDS Church, as well as volunteering and working part-time for Chewelah Gess Elementary, Chewelah Jenkins Middle School and Chewelah Jenkins High School. She has been costume mistress for the Stage Time Theatre for more than 12 years, and has appeared in several theatre productions for the Park Avenue Players, most recently in Laffing Room Only (2008). Sharon is particularly keen in having a real stage for theatre productions and ample room for costumes, plus space for construction and storage of theatre sets. Jessica
Sety As a theatrical director, Jessica's most recent credits include Footlose at Jenkins High School (2007), Chewelah, WA, All My Sons and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at Spokane Civic Theatre, Spokane WA (2006), as well as Big Love at Eastern Washington University (2006). An actor since childhood, her favorite roles include the baker's wife in Into the Woods; the character Arlene in Getting Out; and Rhetta Cupp in Pump Boys and Dinettes, to name just a few. She also adapted the fairy tale Rapunzel for the stage, which was presented by Stage Time Theatre School (2008), Chewelah, WA. A. Ferré A pianist since the age of 10, David was pianist for the Naval Training Command Choir (1967-1968), associate organist for the Genesee Baptist Church, Rochester, NY (1970-1972), and later, biographer for the Polish pianist and composer, André Tchaikowsky (1985). After moving to Seattle in 1987, he was cofounder, with composer Dr. Gregory Short, of the Contemporary Artists Support Association (CASA), organizing concerts for northwest composers (1988-1994). David was stage manager for both the Seattle Pro Musica (1995-2001) and Choral Arts Northwest (1999-2001), and a tour guide for the Benaroya Concert Hall, Seattle, WA (1998-2000). David enjoys local and international classical musical events, most recently, attending a series of concerts in Poland (2008). Louise
Glenn Interested in civic community activities, Louise is past president of the Chewelah Golf and Country Club Property Owners Association, is currently a board member and treasurer of the Chewelah Arts Guild, as well as treasurer for the Canyon Crest Condominium Association, Chewelah, WA. Louise is also an active member of the Chewelah Chamber of Commerce and Chewelah Community Celebrations where she has served in a number of committees. Joe
Wulczynski Joe has always enjoyed film and theater but it was not until his first tour of duty in Germany that he did his first play as Don Baker in Butterflies are Free. Continuing to work with the local Army community theater, he performed in various productions, built special effects for productions, wrote and produced radio commercials, and stage-managed an award winning play. Back at his home base in Chewelah, he produced a play for the Spokane Civic Theater as part of its annual Playwright's Festival. Returning to Germany, Joe performing many functions for the Army Community Theater, including a role in The Yellow Boat at a One-Act Play Festival in Heidelberg. Tracey
Rice As a community activist, Tracey has served many aspects of her community, including board member experience for the Chewelah Public Library Board, Stevens County Rural Library District Board of Trustees, Woodlands Theatre Board in Kettle Falls, WA, and the Chewelah Horizon's Project, Chewelah, WA. As a thespian, she has appeared in numerous Woodlands Theatre and Amyan Acting Troupe productions, including, No Crime Like the Present, Of Widows and Vegetables, Oklahoma, Hello Dolly, A Comedy of Errors, to name a few. Tracey's interest in music includes singing in the Woodlands Choir, Chewelah Community Choir, and the Sweet Adeline's. Bud
Evans Always passionate about our youth and people with disabilities, Dr. Evans is a partner for Rx4Life, which works with Special Olympics Special Smiles (SOSS) to identify providers for primary dental care for Special Olympics athletes and persons at risk due to economic or other challenges. He supports the community through donations and time for the Libraries of Stevens County, and the activities for Colville Parks and Recreation. Dr. Evans also supports the arts at all levels and looks forward to Chewelah gaining its own performance and cultural center. Kathy
Childs While living on Bainbridge Island WA, Kathy was a member of the Bainbridge Island Arts & Humanities Council, focusing on the commissioning of outdoor sculptures and childrens art projects. Her special project was the childrens sea-glass quilt installed in downtown Bainbridge Island. While in Seattle she produced an hour radio show called the Elliott Bay Writers Series that aired on KCMU public radio at the University of Washington on Sunday mornings. The show featured writers who came to the Elliott Bay Bookstore. She also found time for the Richard Hugo House in Seattle an organization that provides support, advice and a variety of programs for writers and the local community. She currently is working on her own writing projects, including poetry and travel essays. Don
McLaughlin Focusing his entire career in the performance arts, Don's professional employment include technician positions, Spokane, WA (1971-2000), Production Manager, Festival of Sandpoint, Sandpoint, ID (1994), Resident Designer and Technical Director, Spokane Civic Theatre, Spokane, WA (1975-1979), Adjunct Professor of Theatre, Carroll College, Helena, MT (1979-1993), Executive Director, Grandstreet Theatre, Helena, MT (1979-1993), and Theatre Facility Manager, Eastern Washington University (1994 to present). His numerous awards and honors include Best Director (1986), President's Award (1993), Dorothy Mullin Awards (Stage Door to the Future) (1998-2000), and Outstanding Faculty Member in Theatre, Eastern Washington University (2000-2008). With his extensive theatre and performance arts experience, Don has the requisite "big picture" view and advises the PACA board based on more than 35 years of performance experience. Thomas
Bristol Tom is one of the most active arts supporters in the Chewelah community being president of the Chewelah Arts Guild, as well as the City Planner for the City of Chewelah, and operates behind the scenes in nearly all visual and performance events in Chewelah. He has worked for nearly 20 years for Chewelah to have its own performance and cultural arts center, and now, with the goal in sight, has spent countless hours creating sketches, designs, ideas, and working with all facets of the arts community to create a center that not only meets the needs of a wide range of groups and individuals, but is a green building in every respect.
